In brief

School pledge comes without a budget

Lieutenant Governor Aidar Maksat told residents of Bazar-Korgon on 22 October that the ISEZ aims to end its school shortage by 2028. Parents at the meeting had raised double-shift classes and crowded classrooms in the Fergana rim farm-belt towns. Bazar-Korgon and Tash-Kömür, both in Lower Naryn District, are to be reviewed first, and the district and city education offices are to report on progress. The detail that matters: no budget figure, law or new official body came with the pledge. It is a target set by an existing office, a year before the 2 November 2027 election.
